Google already created its own operating system

This is what John Loiacono, Sun's software chief has to say about the software being developed on Google. According to him, in an interview given to Sillicon Valley watcher, Google has a huge data center that has some Sun stations, along with the thousands of cheap processors that fuel its search system.

John Loiacono said that the Google operating system was created to run grids of machines that process millions of searches per day.

Certainly such an operating system is not acceptable for desktop use, but this shows again that Google has the necessary technology to develop its own operating system if necessary. It all depends on the strategy the they judge to be the best to provide their services to the largest number of people.
