Google and eBay: cooperation with Skype
The internet telephony market is maturing every day, and new players as well as old ones are using the opportunity to cement their strategies. The latest example is the cooperation agreement between Google and eBay concerning the well known Internet telephony company Skype.
During the next months, Google announced to be using Skype's technology to provide communication services for their customers. One example of such use is to have direct links in a web page that use skype to call a customer.
It is also very possible that Google will find some way to interoperate with Skype using Gtalk, its in-house instant message service.
It looks that this agreement will go a long way into making internet telephony, instant messages, and related software even more important in the day-to-day life of companies and individual customers.
