Changes on Google base

SearchEngineWatch reports on the new changes on Google base. The main change is that direct links are not really direct anymore. Instead, Google base sends the user to a new intermediate page, where more information is given about the link.

This has the advantage that the user will have more data to decided if that link is what he or she wants. However, it may be annoing if you have to click on more pages that you should in the first place.

Google said that this is an experiment that may be only temporary. The discussion about the importance of this change are not very clear, and this is the reason Google is targeting the new feature as just a test.
