Google: a winner in a maturing market
The extraordinary growth of Google's share price in 2005 was only matched by the other leading technology company this year: Apple. Google has gained 128% during 2005.
However, as pointed out by media analysts, the growth of these two companies may only be an exception in a maturing market.
Growth in other areas of technology has remained a low pace. Big companies such as IBM, Microsoft, and Dell are now displaying single digit growth, which is a common sign in maturing companies.
