Google News is leaving beta

One of the most useful features of the Google web site are the news section. Although very useful, the news service has remained in the beta phase for at least two years

Today, Google announced that News is an official Google service, and removed it from beta. Along with this, Google added a few new features to Google News, that will make it even more useful. For example, there is the recommended news option, which is described in the Google blog:

When you're signed in to your Google Account, you'll receive recommended news stories based on the previous stories you've read. These recommendations will be highlighted just below the top news stories on the page, in a clearly marked section. You can also get a full page of recommended stories by clicking on the section.
